7-13 September: autumn harvest + walking mountain towns (2027)

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

Day 1: Pick up from Rome Tiburtina at midday. Terrace lunch on arrival in Sulmona. Explore the town on foot, relax and settle in to your accommodation. Dinner together at Ristorante Clemente.

Day 2: Terrace breakfast. Attend the famous Sulmona produce markets and meet Dani’s favourite local growers. Cooking demonstration and lunch with Daniela. Rewilding walk and talk with Valerio of Rewilding Appenines at Pettorano Sul Gizio. Dinner and polenta cooking demonstration at Il Torchio.

Day 3: Breakfast at our favourite local café. Depending on the weather, we’ll visit either the town of Scanno, or the Lago di Scanno to enjoy the lake by pedaló, with optional swimming! Visit to local sheep farm and agriturismo for lunch. Evening free.

Day 4: Breakfast at our favourite local café. Morning yoga. Visit to a nearby artisanal pasta factory followed by a cooking class and lunch focusing on dried pasta. Evening free.

Day 5: Breakfast at our favourite local café. Attend the famous Sulmona produce markets to collect the best quality autumn vegetables, fruits and cheeses. Cooking class and lunch with Daniela. Evening free.

Day 6: Breakfast at our favourite local café. Visit the historic medieval village of Pacentro (officially one of Italy’s most beautiful villages) for a cheesemaking workshop and lunch Alla Casa Vecchia. Wander around Pacentro including a visit to the historical castle and a coffee with the best views in Abruzzo. Evening free.

Day 7: Terrace breakfast and private transfer to Rome Tiburtina, arriving midday.

Booking notes

You can book either a single or double occupancy room at the beautiful Il Marchese del Grillo or La Dimora del Falconiere. Our daily breakfast for the whole group will be served on the terrace at Il Marchese del Grillo. La Dimora del Falconiere is an easy 3-5 minute walk away.

All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions. Please note that there are no refunds available. If you are unable to attend the tour, and you let us know earlier than 4 months from the tour start date, you can transfer your booking to someone who can take your place, or we can transfer you to a future tour, within two years (subject to availability, and to payment of any price difference). We recommend you purchase travel insurance to cover you (and others under your booking) in case of change of plans or family/health emergencies.
